LCCA is working closely with the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services on measures to understand the virus and limit transmission. Meanwhile, LCCA has launched the volunteering service platform to provide community members and families in need of quarantine with the following service, Grocery Shopping, and Chinese-English Translation.

LCCA COVID-19 Fundraising Campaign for local communities has now launched. The donation will be used to purchase protective supplies, which would be donated to local medical departments, first responders, and others, such as hospital, clinic, senior center, police department, fire department, etc.

The Nebraska Chinese community is currently campaigning to collect monetary donations to support the relief efforts in combating the Coronavirus outbreak in China. We have a team currently searching for qualified medical necessities to be used in the affected area in China. The need for funds to purchase these items is of the utmost importance and urgency at this point. We are going to purchase qualified medical necessities to ship directly to the hospitals in need. Any remaining funding will be donated to China through official channels set up by the Oversea Chinese Confederation to help the disaster recovery. The purpose of this campaign is to show our love and support to the people in China. Your participation is far more important than the amount you can donate. Your donation could go a long way. The State of Nebraska has enacted a law commemorating Chinese Lunar New Year Day each year throughout the state of Nebraska. Pete Ricketts, Governor of the State of Nebraska, proclaims January 25, 2020 as Chinese Lunar New Year Day, and urges all citizens to take due note of the observance.
