LCCA Summer Talent Competition

To celebrate the Chinese Culture Week (Sept. 13 – 18, 2010), LCCA will host a Children Talent Contest.

When: Sept. 12, 2010 (Sunday)
Where: Old Culture Center at City Campus, Lincoln, NE
Who: All LCCA younger members and friends

It is a great opportunity to expose your child’s talent. All children aged from 6 to 14 are qualified for the competition. The contest is divided into two age groups: 6 – 9 and 10 – 14. The competition may include the following types of acts:

Vocal, Instrumental, Dance, Painting, Calligraphy, Martial Art, Magic, etc. Perhaps other categories. Some category such as Singing and Dance can be performed in solo or group.

There is only one requirement for the acts. What ever the genre it may be, it must be related to Chinese culture. Either the form or the subject of the acts must have something to do with Chinese culture, e.g. singing a Chinese song, playing Chinese music, Chinese traditional artwork, and Chinese calligraphy.

Contestants will be judged by the professional specialists or masters of the respective category. All winners of each category from each age group will receive prizes provided by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Confucius Institute and LCCA. The first place winner will be awarded at the Chinese Culture Week’s closing party on Sept. 18, 2010. Selected artworks of the winners of Painting and Calligraphy will be exhibited with the masters in Chinese arts at the Rotunda Gallery in the Nebraska Union during the Chinese Culture Week.
